Too slow wi-fi on xperia ray

WI-FI connect of XPERIA Ray to router 75mbit/s, but copying speed from smb disk with ES explorer 6mbit/s. (Micro  SD Card Class 10)

WI-FI connect of netbook to router is 54mbit/s and copying speed  27 mbit/s!

Why ray copies 4 times slower then netbook?

(Checked on two xperia ray phones)

We have tested it here at the office and there is a change in speed indeed.

The result you get is about the same we get here when trying. So, there's nothing wrong with your phone. It just cannot reach the same speeds as your netbook.

I don't know the reason for this limit. It does however vary between the phone models. When we try with Xperia S for example, we almost get twice the speed.

Looking at the differences of these two, Xperia S got a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm dual core processor while Xperia ray is running on 1 GHz Qualcomm single core processor.

I don't know for sure if this is what does it but my guess would be that this is it.

i forgot to say that was 1.5 times faster on android 2.3.1 then android 4.0

Thanks for posting this. News to me.

I'll keep it in mind in case I stumble upon any info on this matter. For now this info is not available so I cannot really say why this is happening. If there's a 50% difference in speed depending on SW it's clearly not just HW related (if at all).

I connect HDD to the router by usb interface. Copying speed from router 1.275 mbytes per second now :-).
