Spontaneously losing app shortcuts from your homescreens?

I am running 2.3.4 LT15i and a couple of times when I have swapped SIM cards to use a different number I have, my Arc booted up without any app shortcuts which I had personalised on my home screens.

As far as I can tell they are all apps that I have stored on the SD card. But I can access the SD card just fine.

I don't use any loaders and I power down the handset in the correct way.

Anybody else come across this problem or maybe find a solution for it?

It's a real pain in the ass, having to go re-shortcut my 5 pages of homescreen with the apps I want to have on them.

Activating Debugging makes no difference, the moral of the story is to not connect your Arc to a PC. Bloody annoying.

you have an unusual bug, you should really consider to repair your phone with SUS or PCC and then check if the bug continues or update to the latest firmware

I just had the same thing happen with my LT18a.

I connected the phone and then disconnected it after a few seconds, maybe that has something to do with it.

Also i noticed that the all shortcuts that disappeared are for apps installed on the SD card, and in particular apps that i had open or running in the background as a service (e.g. whatsapp, skype, viber)

had the same problem with my LT18i, thats the reason i updated to ICS, havent had the phone working properly since so i havent had time to test it as im still trying to sort out other problems due to updating

I have been thinking about updting to ICS, what issues are you having? is it an official release?

its the official, been having problems with the contact not showing facebook profile pictures in my contacts, google play not showing all apps that can be updated eg. youtube not showing in my apps for updating, i have to search for it then go to the googleplay youtube page and update it from there same with most of the apps,liveware manager not abile to update,

im thinking of sending it back to sony to get them to downgrade it back to GB, didnt have any problems apart from the app vanishing from home screen till i upgraded

also lost the fb chat and camera app
