Sony Xperia S Update Error 1100

Hi,

Just want to raise my concern regarding the new update 6.2.B.1.96. I keep receiving error 1100 (Sony Update Engine Failure).

I've tried everything like re-installing PC Companion, added Sony Update Engine and Update Service in the list of applications allowed to access the internet and installed Sony Update Service but there was no success.

I really hope you can help me on this. Thanks in advance.

Apparently the 1100 error message is because of an Antivirus or Application blocker on your PC

You could try disabling these then re-trying

Thanks for the immediate response Thommo. I've tried disabling the firewall and anti-virus of my pc but the error still persist. I'm using MS Security Essentials by the way. I'd very much appreciate if you could suggest other ways that I can try. Thanks again.

You could try using SEUS found here http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

Try to add SUS or PCC in exceptions for firewall.MS is a tricky antivirus,but it should disable completely.

Thanks again for the response guys. Sad to say that what you've suggested still doesn't work for me.  Even Sony Update Service provides a network error.

Here are the things that I tried so far:

- Re-installed PC Companion

- Re-installed Sony Update Engine

- Intalled Sony Update Service

- Allowed the 3 programs above in my firewall

- Disabled MS Security Essestials
