I tried to perform the latest software upgrade on my SP on Wednesday 15th jan, but when it came time to update my phone after downloading the update, PC companion said that it couldn't connect to my phone to perform the upgradde.
Now my phone is stuck in a bricked state.
When you try and power it on, the light at the bottom flashes green, the Sony logo appears, then the phone powers off.
The battery is fully charged. I have tried using the 'off' button on the back of the phone, holding it down for 10 seconds, but that makes no difference.
So currently, I am stuck with a phone that just shows the Sony logo and then switches off again.
Please help!

But will PCC be able to see my phone if it won't boot up? Surely there will be no connection between my phone and PCC for it to carry out a repair??
When running a repair you don't boot up your phone you have to make sure it's switched off then hold volume down and connect your USB cable - This should enable Flashmode thus making your phone viewable by the software in order to perform a repair - Just as when you perform an update/upgrade your phone switches off then auto boots into Flashmode - All your doing here is cutting out the initial procedure
Thanks Thommo, I'll give it a go and let you know.
Thanks Thommo, worked perfectly, phone back to normal.
No problem - Glad to of helped
My SP crashed/got blocked yesterday and I am looking at ways to repair it. My question mainly to Thommo is - I saw that you mention the device needs to be switched off prior to running the SUS/repair - but I am not sure if my device is off - when pressing the power button I get the red light on the bar shining two short times and that's it. Do you think I should proceed with charging several hours and running the update service?
