note app editing cursor

Hi experts,

I noticed that when editing an existing note in the Note app, upon scrolling & once you tap the portion that you like to edit, the cursor always appears at the very last/bottom part of the whole page.

I think its a default action, but it is a bit annoying, if you need to edit something in the middle portion of the page.

Any idea on how to correct or modify this behavior?

my phone by the way is on ICS.

thanks again in advance.

BR & God bless

Jake The way you told only works once we have had tapped on the note.

Check again, go to the notes app, tap on the note's tile. ( Now the note occupies full screen ). If we tap on the line we want to edit, the cursor would come up at the bottom only and not at the line we tapped on.

Seems there is now way except a work around.

Tap on the full page note ( the cursor would come up at the bottom and the keyboard will rise ) . Now press back button only once ( Note would remain at editting stage but cursor will disappear including the keyboard. ) But now if you tap on the line you want , the cursor will come at that line only

Ofcourse there is  a way

Winking_Face

Tap and hold on the place you want to edit ( the cursor would come up at the same place ) , tap there once again to switch on the keyboard

Hi Moderator Nabeel,

Thanks for this info.

But I'm afraid it still does not work.

I tap and hold on the portion I want to edit, but nothing happens.

After I release, then, it shows the keypad & also goes to the very bottom of the text page. Thinking_Face

any other suggestions?

thanks again

When in the notes app, if you have text in the middle simply tap on the screen do not hold, once the keyboard comes up you will have free access to tap anywhere where text is located.

I just performed this task on my Xperia S

Hi Jake,

Yes, once the keypad comes out, the text display is at the bottom end of the page. And I would have to go back to the portion of where i want to edit the text.

Coz if I'm doing more than a few editing, it would be annoying that it will always go to the bottom, and I will again go back to find where i want to edit.

Thanks very much for the reply.
