so i have to uninstall then reinstall smart connect?
unfortunately for me, NFC is still dead. i followed the necessary steps, i already repaired it and still nothing happened, i guess i have to wait for a follow up
After you unistall Smart tags app and install Smart Connect app from Play store you need to restart your phone (hold down power button and both volume keys for couple of seconds.) That should fix your problem. Let me know how it all went. 🙂
on ICS, i used to have the smart tags app first to detect it then go with the smart connect app pre installed and updated. it worked with the tags.
after the jelly bean update, the nfc turns on but it cannot detect the tags. i used the same process i did during ics yes nothing happens.
i repaired the phone using pcc and still nothing happens. finally, just yesterday, i hard reset the phone, still nothing, then i repaired again. and nothing happened. now, still nothing happens. i installed the nfc taginfo mentioned on the other thread and still it won't detect. i'm doubting its a hardware problem but i have not dropped the phone whatsoever. im starting to give up with the nfc feature.
Try clearing data and clearing cache for smart connect. Then disable smart connect and enable it after 5 minutes. Then reset the phone. Wait for the phone to reboot and then just bring your nfc tags close to the phone, it should recognize them as new devices.... Hope this helps
holy sh**. that one worked. lol. thanks man! a BIG THANKS TO YOU!
You are welcome.
Glad I could help you.
Regards
Please xtraJosh,
My nfc not working in jelly bean.
Tell me the steps that you did to make it work.
I Already tried everything ...
Repeat the steps i gave to josh
I already follow your steps several times but failed.
Two questions, I have to do steps before updating the Smart Conect or after updating it by play store?
And the reset is only turn off and on again, or reset to original configuration?
