My Xperia X8 display light automatically turns on, even if not in use

My phone's display light automatically turns on even if I dont use it. This results in low battery and phone becomes hot. I have tried with 'Screen timeout' option but in vain. Please let me know what has to be done to make my phone work well.

This problem may be due to some third party app, such as task killers, battery defenders, juice defenders,, auto kill apps etc etc... go through all such apps and revise their settings or uninstall them

And if what Nabeel suggested wont fix the problem go for the software repair option in PC Companion to check if that could fix it.

It worked Stopped some unknown running apps and uninstalled unused apps. Thanks. I have one more problem. Messages from a particular number, cannot be read or deleted!!!. My case, messages from my bank 'LM-HDFCBK' cannot be opened or deleted. There are about 43 messages from same number for which I cannot do anything. When I try to open, it shows a blank screen and if I try to delete, it gives error message "The application Messaging(process com.sonyericsson.conversations)has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". Can you please help with this????
