This is really weird. My x10 has always been saying I have no SIM card inserted even though I do and it works perfectly. My status bar always shows my connections to be changing all the time, going from 5 bars to 1 bar, to no connection then no sim card and all over again. I'm just wondering if it was the updates fault, and do I have to re-update or factory reset the phone. P.S the SIM card message disappears after a phone restart but will come right back once you put it to sleep.

Everyone please help. I have the exactly same problem with him, but I don't have any task killer, and I try to downgrade my phone to 1.6, factory reset,...it is still not worked. My phone has a weak signal reception and hard to get signal inside building or home. Outside, the signal bar drops suddenly, and never get full....
I have the exactly same problem
Same here. But mine is a little different. The only task manager i have is the built in " manage application" under settings. However, my SIM card works sometime but it refused to work recently as my x10 keep replying sim card not inserted " No SIM card in phone" i even tried restarting it. It works for awhile but afterwards, it just drop backed to Sim card not inserted again
I have had major issues with my phone since the update, i have taken it back to store for them to send off again today, but im not optomistic!
I do not have a task killer app on my phone so this cannot be the issue,
1. First notice issues after the update with the phone functions lagging quite a lot
2. About 2 weeks after i noticed that i wasn't getting any email updates, timescape updates or receiving any text messages, also my pattern lock had decided to disappear
3. Phoned up to report the issues, was told to remove battery, sim card, etc. Replaced them after ten minutes and the phone kept on telling me i had no signal in between briefly getting network coverage. But still no texts came through
4. Removed sim, etc again, replaced them and then it told me i had no sim card, after several more attempts at removing and replacing, still no avail.
5. Tested sim card in old phone to see if it was the issue - full network coverage and several texts came through.
6. Took it into store, they sent it off, without phone for ten days, they send it back after wiping everything and re-installing software, apparently this is different to doing it at home over the internet which just puts a "patch" or something? over existing software.
7. Get phone back, all works okay, spend hours resetting up the phone for the third time since i've had it (yes hours, even with every back up function going!)
8. That evening i go out, try to use the internet over 3G but no connection. Don't think much of it at the time apart from the fact that there are 3 other Voda users sitting around me all with good signals and using internet functions.
9. Tried accessing the net over 3G again this afternoon in a very good signal area without any luck. Phone functions also lagging again big style.
10. I do that foolishish thing of removing + replacing the sim, etc........... guess what, my phone now tells me I have no sim!!!!!!!!
11. Put my sim in old phone and send myself a text...... all works fine.
12. Try it a few days later, does not tell me there is no sim, just tells me to turn airplane mode off.... when it isn’t on.
13. And a short while later........ no sim!
Sony Ericsson now sucks unlike their other older phone ^_^
