hii.. battery problem

hey people... im currently using sony ericsson xperia arc running 2.3.4
after this update, there's a drastic drop in the performance of the battery of the phone Slightly_frowning_Face
i never had any battery problemms until now.. and when the phone used to run on 2.3.3, the battery was functioning just fine..
and now since ive updated around a week back.. ive been observing a fall Slightly_frowning_Face
and to my observation, i feel it's nt the problem with the battery but with the display.. when it ran on 2.3.3, the display would take around 35% of everyday's charge.. but now it takes EIGHTY !!!!!
please reply.. if u guys face the same problem, join me in appealing to SE.. and for those who dnt face this problem, please notify me as to where i can improve on the performance of the display.. i have kept the brightness to 15 % and the screen timeout to 30 seconds.. and within 5 hours the battery dies Slightly_frowning_Face Slightly_frowning_Face Slightly_frowning_Face and when i see the usage.. 80 % would be the display !!screenshot_2011-11-07_0015.pngscreenshot_2011-11-07_0016.png

Display 43% - 3h 44m
Cell standby 21% - 21h 28m
PES 2011 11% - 1h 20m

Music 9% - 1h 48m
Phone idle 8% - 17h 43m
Mediaserver 3 %
Android System 2%
Juice Defender 2%
15% brightness, 30secs timeout, bravia engine off..
it was 20 % and i had to switch on packet data and used it for 15 mins and it came down to 15%..
and since the phone has been idle for soo much tym, i dnt think its lasting me well.. and.. cell standby, woah, so much? my data traffic is 2g 😕 and the simcard is 2.5 years old!! do u feel this has anything to do with the sim? bcuz the service provider is the best india has now i think.. (airtel) !!

you are from india Dizzy_Face

i'm from delhi Winking_Face

anyways..

i just checked mine..

it was 100% and now its showing

9 hours on battery

and phone idle is 7 hours 30 minutes...

and see with 1:30 hours use..now my battery is howing - 65%

and remind you phone idle also consumes battery Winking_Face

dont know why but i think because of the apps.. they dont let the phone go to sleep mode...

there are many apps which has a permission - keep the phone awake..

so it doest lets the arc to sleep and arc keeps on consuming battery..

whats this PES 2011..?? in your battery status..

also now i think your battery is normal..because i also get around this much battery life..

i have never turned on the mobile network data.. i use wifi..

its normal..and i think its the internet through airtel which you are using is causing the battery to drain faster..

well yes i have heard airel has the best internet but dont know..

there are very factors..even if they have the fastest internet , we dont know if it is efficient or not..

i mean its possible airtel consumes more exchange of internet packets and all..

i'm not a techy but i hope you understood Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes

just wait for a couple of days..i'm goin to recharge with an internet scheme on vodafone ( which sucks )

and the network data will be on for the whole day..

then i'll tell you my result Slightly_smiling_Face

if there is a significant drop that means the network data is the culprit..jispe mujhe abhi bhi shak hai Dizzy_Face

sorry i dont know you were from banglore Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes

ok..yes i'll keep you updated..

tomorrow only i'm going to have the internet enabled..

well i'll hve a low data rechrge..

it will be a 3g connection and 3g takes more battery than the normal internet but still we'll know that netwrok data is te culprit... Winking_Face

i'll just take 100 mb 3g connection Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes

and will have the data monitor on.. so i'll check the app also..

i'll keep u updated..

lol oka Slightly_smiling_Face
but one thing ive noticd is dat since 3g is blazing fast compared to 2g, u actually finish ur downlading work and account-sync work pretty quikly.. and u need nt have to wait too long !! and after all that's done, u tend to switch off data.. and that actually consumes less power right?
ive enabled juice defender ultimate version and ive customised according to my requiremtns.. and it auto-syncs my accounts with a 1-hour duration.. n since its 2g, takes too long.. if at all i had 3g, it wud finish in lesser time and automatically switch off data Slightly_smiling_Face
so i feel 3g consumes less power practically speaking..
if u always have ur internet enabled, then yes, 3g consumes more juice than 2g Slightly_smiling_Face

you are right but i'll have the 3g connection and will remain on all the time Winking_Face
