can i record audio with headphones jack?

Headphones jack is only line out? Can i record sound only frontal jack line in?

I've seen some unofficial apps on the web that do this for android units.

Yet as of now the jack only handles mics in CTI handsfree wired devices.

There are third party apps that allow you to do this with Bluetooth.
