Audio sometimes not working

Hi all,

since two days there is a new problem with my Xperia SP (still on 4.1), which I use since 3 months.

Audio is not working sometimes. It started when I could not hear anything during calls.

When I switch on the speaker , it works. But it is annoying since others can hear what my  partner is speaking. And it is too loud for my ear.

Then I recognized that other sounds are not working, too:

  • the sound selector/switcher
  • media playback

Others are working, like the alarm clock,  notifications, rings.

Strange, isn't it?

I plan to upgrade to 4.3 but I need to backup everything first, which will take some time ...

Hi,

smart connect is not installed on my phone. May be it has a different name in German ...

Anyway I solved the problem. The culprit is the app "FM radio". I used it this morning and everything was working again after I stopped it. I remembered that I stopped it last time just by unplugging the earphones when the speaker was switched on. This time I switched it off *before* unplugging the earphones.

Thanks for help

Have you tried settings-apps-all-smart connect, clear data and force stop? Then restart your phone.

Hi alexdon,

can you elaborate a bit? Do you mean to clear the cache of all apps and stop them?

Will try ...

Thanks

Go to setting>apps>all
Find smart connect then clear cache for it then force stop it and reboot your phone

Also try this one:connect and disconnect your headset couple of times and see what happen
