Hello,
i have a problem with the Album app (on Xperia T, ICS).
From time to time i remove photos from folders of my sdcard, but i do it on my pc.
The Album app does not realize that, it only shows a placeholder for the photos i deleted.
How can i force the Album app to rescan the WHOLE phone?
I already tried deleting cache and data of the Album app, but it does not help.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Found it after doing some research.
settings > apps > all > Media Storage
clear everything
After that album is empty and doing a comlete rescan
you can delete the thumbnails folder
Thanks, but which tumbnails folder?
Where is it located?
on your computer > DCIM > thumbnails
or
use a file manager on your phone
Thanks, but it does not help. I have several other folders containing photos which does not even have a .thumbnails or thumbnails folder (checked with root explorer).
The Album app just does not realize that i removed photos.
There must be some kind of index file or something similar, i need to force Album to do a rescan of all images or delete its old index and build a new one from scratch.
try this
settings > apps > all > album > clear everything (this shouldn't delete your pictures) >restart your phone
tried that again (including reboot) but it does not help.
(but as mentioned in my first post i already tried it before)
Still shows placeholder for the deleted photos
if your pictures are stored on the SD card then
on your computer > computer > Xperia T > internal storage > sd card > DCIM > thumbnails > delete this folder
then restart your phone
excellent
