Remove earphone during call?

Hi

I have the Xperia SP (C5303) & have a relatively simple question, is it ok to remove earphones from the phone whilst there is an incoming call or during a call? Would doing so cause any issue with the phone, maybe speaker or something?

I prefer not to use microphone headsets because they are more concentrated for giving clear sound as opposed to good, deep bass. Ones which give, or claim to give the best of both are out of my price range.

There might be a small  delay for the sound to move to the ear speaker during a call but, you will not damage the phone by removing the headset during a call or when there is an incoming call.
