My new Xperia M2 is not responding from the touchscreen. The buttons on the side are working but touchscreen not reacting to anything.
I can't go through the sony Smartphone update service because i have to switch the phone off before running it and I can't switch off the phone without the touchscreen.
It's Sunday so struggling to get any technical support.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Well, I have solved this problem so i am sharing this info coz it has just worked for me. I had to RESTORE FACTORY settings. To do this i had to log in to the Sony Mobile website and authenticate myself. Only disadvatage is that i have lost all data that was on my phone. So, it's back to square one for most things like Apps, contacts etc. I wish you well
this is great advice! worked perfectly for me i had already tried taking my sim out and it didnt work. so i held the volume button and lock button at the same time and it switched off and seemed like it was out of life the done it again it came on and worked perfectly! thank you so much!!
@Thommo wrote:Hold volume up and power for around 10 to 15 seconds or under one of the flaps you may find a small red reset button - Either of these will shut down your phone - Try restarting to see if the issue is resolved if not then contact Sony http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/ care or take it back to the place of purchase
