Hi, XPERIA M4 AQUA to which I constantly fall out GPS signals. Setting up sites I manage, I tried several times to factory settings, I contacted the support but nothing has changed. Someone knows what to do? Perhaps it would help any updates. Thank you for your help.

I've figured out that my problem was that I had a cover on my M4. The moment I took the cover off and restarted my navigation app (Google maps) it works perfectly fine.
It is then definitely a hardware issue. So if you have a cover try removing it when using any navigation app.
My Z1C doesn't have any cover and it still has problems with GPS since lollipop update. No matter how much possibilities I try it just doesn't work.
Hi everybody,
since the beginning of 2016 I own a Xperia M4 aqua, but I've got a big issue with GPS. It has a very weak signal, and it loose the track continously. I've read a lot about it on internet and it seems a normal issue with more or less all the M series.. but I cannot find a decisive solution!
Obviously I've tried to modify all the settings and to download a big variety of "gps-fix" apps.. Some of these, such as GPS Status, help a little bit.. but really not enough.
It would be very nice if Sony release a fixed update of the software..
Meanwhile... does someone has a solution?
Thanks
I also have problems with GPS. It's impossible to use Gmaps navigation or even endomondo when running! I bought a waterproof smartphone so that I could use it worry free when exercising, and now I can't even use it for that! The GPS does not lock the position, and if I move, it constantly falls out of signal, even in high precision. My old nokia NEVER failed on this regard, and even my girlfriend's old old samsung is able to navigate like a pro.
The phone works great besides this issue and the black video recording issue.
I am so disapointed. Could I get a refund from Sony? Or trade the smartphone in?
xperia m4 aqua dual e2333 gps problem
My Xperia M4 aqua also has this issues. I used the companion app to re-install the software before sending it to the warranty. However, the problem persists. Today I needed the GPS to work because I was in an unfamiliar city. I tested it on foot, and the GPS consistenly lost signal. As a result I got lost.
The phone is going for the second time to the warranty. At this point, if the issue remains I will ask for a refund, because this issue is absolutely unnaceptable.
Updating:
My xperia M4 Aqua went to warraty yet again. (3rd time) The description of the repair was only a factory reset (which I had already done at home). The GPS failed, yet again, once it was put to the test. I used the screen recording tool to show the repair company the issue. Hopefully, third time is the charm.
i have the same kind of problem with my sony XPERIA AQUA M4.
the GPS loose signal where i used it for running session.
the only solution i founded on the internet is to modified the gps.conf to set another ntp server setup.
it seems that de default ntp serveur is set to a japan server.
ok with that, but to do this, you have to root your mobile phone... 😞
i am very disappointed about that....
Hello,
is there anything I should do in order to get the GPS working?
Problem persists.
In gps-test, I can see that the module can actually sees a bunch of sattelites(between 15 and 22). So, it shouldn't be a hardware issue. However, it just doesn't get a fix on any sattelites - never!
I would rather not want to root the phone, I'm afraid that I'll lose my warranty.

Gerrit
is there anyone in SONY who read this forum ?
is ti possible to have an idea about when we will have a GPS That can be use ?
like Gerrit74 i prefer to not root my phone....
After a while someone from Support got back to me. They suggested to start in failsafe and if that would not work I should try repair via companion. Problem was ... Companion did not work. I had to uninstall it and then I had to install a fresh version of companion. And now I can add to my list that a
didn't work either.
As a Softwaredeveloper myself, I really wonder what is going on. It seems as if the Module itself is working - well at least the antenna is working, since another app from the store is displaying a number of sattelites with varying numbers (less if I go inside ...).
So, Sony, seems to me that it might be a software-problem and not a hardware-problem. Might be wrong though, but still ...
