Hi @Gman5000, I am very sorry to hear about what has happened. Slightly_frowning_Face

When you mention that you are only able to see colours, do you mean that it's not possible to make out what's on the display? There are ways to force MTP mode if you have a display which does not react to touch, but I'm afraid that it requires you to still be able to see the contents as you have to enter the Settings of the device with the help of an OTG adapter. If you are unable to see what's displayed then I am afraid that I do not have a way for you to force the device in to an MTP mode. Slightly_frowning_Face

In this case I'm afraid that I can only refer you to have your device sent to an authorized service center in order to have it repaired. To do so, I recommend getting in touch with your Local support in order to be assisted as they are well informed regarding your local service routines, warranty terms and local consumer laws.

Let me know how it went, or if you are able to see the contents of the display and I'll be happy to explain further!

There is still something that can be done... If your point to enable mtp is to backup your data you could try something tricky but that could work! It involve a bit of research or experience in using Adb and command line, a Mac with OS X or a Windows PC, I am afraid it won't work with a Powerbook.

So to the nuce... By rebooting or turning on your phone in recovery mode you should be able to log in using Adb. Using adb you will be able also to mount the file system and pull the content of the internal storage into your computer...
