Since I have updated to Marshmallow last night, my Z5 no longer shows the number of notifications I have on each app 😞 Anyone else have this problem? Notifications still appear in the notifications bar but not on the apps themselves (the little number).

@Marmolo87 Hi, after 5 years with iphone & the restrictions imposed you will find much more freedom with Android & the multiple ways you can personally customise your phone to exactly the way you want it. Tho i do understand your frustration re 'badge notifications' .....the best thing to do is visit Google Play Store & look at the Apps to rectify this, may seem strange to begin with but over time you will grow to love the freedom Android has to offer :smileysmileywink:

I just got some information about this. It is due to the fact that the code snippet (API) that was used by apps such as WhatsApp Messenger, to show unread messages, was not official and is obsolete. The new API will be communicated to partners and will require implementation on the partner side.

I've got the same issue (and many more) after updating to MM.
Besides Lifelog and News Suite - I've lost notification numbers on Whatsapp, Gmail etc.
Can't undestand why there's no fix yet.
Should have just stuck with Lollipop - "If it ain't broke don't fix it"

@Xain Please see my post above yours. App developers needs to implement the new API for this to work.

Sorry, my bad, seemed to have missed your post. Even so, Google Inc. having 1 billion + downloads of the Gmail App, could have implemented it into their own app.
Missed some vital emails because I've become so reliant on badges for new mail notification.
