Why is this not working for me? The underside laser of the mouse starts glowing red when the phone reboots, but when I get to the lock screen there is still no mouse curser to use. I can't access my phone and I really need it since I'm out travelling the world right now!

the OTG cable seems to be working fine since I can actually power up my power bank with my phone now (instead of the other way around as usual) and the mouse is brand new and should be working, but no mouse curser is showing up..

Has anyone used this method with with encryption turned on? I force the power off with my Z5C, plug in the USB laser mouse via the OTG adapter, power on.... but I get to the encryption pin entry screen, and the mouse never lights up.  Just wondering if this method only works with encryption off, or if i have some faulty hardware

I have literally been trying to access my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact for weeks as the screen is cracked and the touch is completely broken. I have tried everything (all the programs, USB debugging through ADB Bridge etc. but all were unsuccessful as I could not unlock my phone to allow permission for these various programs). Even the OTG mouse wouldn't work until I just followed your advice and held the power button and the volume up key (which forced switched my phone off), then I restarted it with the OTG mouse already plugged in and it FINALLY detected the mouse so I could unlock my phone and have access to all my files! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I spent many hours on this, and nothing worked until I went ahead and bought the OTG cable AND turned the phone on WHILE already connected to the cable.  Thanks!  This tip was a lifesaver.
