Battery drop from 40% to 2%
Battery status is getting wierd. Phone shuts down any time at any battery percantage. See screenshots I have included for reference. Please help me.
Sony team has any answer for my problem I listed in this thread or I should get 1+6T instead?
Hi @RohitKM, sorry to hear about this.
When the device shuts down, are you able to power it on directly or do you need to connect a charger to the device, before you are able to power it on again? Based on the screen shots it does look like you have to charge it before turning it on, but I just want to make sure that is the case.
When the device has powered off, open the cover for the SIM and SD card slot and press and hold the OFF button with the tip of a pen until you get three short vibrations and then charge your device to full when it's powered off.
Let me know how it goes!
Thank you @Jonas for hearing me out. Yes, to power it on again I have to connect the charger everytime.
Regarding the process Ihave 2 questions to ask you
1) Do I need to remove the sim card tray and sd card for the data safety.
2) After the process when the device is being charged should I let it remain in Power Off mode and let it charge until its full or I can power on again and let it charge and work as usual.
I am going to do What you have suggested but I want you to know that I have already did the Software repair using PC Companiom, but the problem remains same
The trick you suggested didn't work, the problem remains the same.
Please help me what to do.
Then came the Sony Sound of Silence
It can be:
1. Your battery is drop and need new replacement
2 Try to re-flash the ROM
My battery is to the point where it sometimes completely shuts down at 75% battery life. Does the battery need to be replaced or us there a fix for it? It's almost to the point where it is non-functional, and I have to charge it constantly.
Hey guys, so i have a sony xperia z5 and i had some couple of problems here and there with the phone but today my phone has just gone crazy. It is shutting itself down like 10 times in an hour and then just wont get turned on anymore unless i plug it to the charger. So i guess battery is kinda donezo? can anybody confirm this? or give me some advice to what i can do to solve this problem?
EDIT: Okay guys if you are still reading this, i couldnt fix this problem without getting a new battery. So i ordered one on amazon for like 13€ and replaced with my old one. Its now a lot better. No more shut downs and stuff. Eventhough i still use up quite a bit of battery, it is so much better than it was before. 😛
Hi again @RohitKM, sorry for the late reply.
The next step is to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion, this will tell us if this is related to the software in the device or not, as this will delete all data from the device and reinstall the latest available update.
As all data is being removed, it's important that you create a backup before you start with the repair process.
In case you still experience the same behaviour even after the software repair has been completed, your device will need to be examined by a trained technician at one of our authorized service centres and since all service cases are handled at a local level, get in touch with your Local support team and they will assist you further with this.
@Deebee72, I can see that you experience as similar behaviour in the other thread you posted in, could you also try the troubleshooting steps and see if that helps?
@igniel, you are correct. In these type of cases where the device shuts down and can't be powered on unless you connect it to a charger, it could be the battery (or other mechanical parts) or the software that is the cause.
Keep me posted!
