Z3 C microphone problem

When I receive calls then microphone is not working for first 2 seconds and people can't hear me.

Is this some kind software problem or I should swap this phone for new one?

I mean it's sad but some times funny how my calls start like Skype calls where first thing you say is "Can You hear me?"

This problem have not occurred while calling out only while receiving calls.

Yes! I am having this problem. It's annoying but I've just been thinking: well... maybe this is what you have to put up with when buying a non-Apple phone - (I switched from Apple).

Is this something I should be pursueing on the warranty??

"Calls"->"Microphone noise suppression" setting is enabled by default so it was a surprise for me that remote parties can barely hear me until I disabled it. The phone is D5803 rev.7 with latest 23.0.1.A.5.77 firmware. Both main and second microphones seem to be working Ok. At least I can hear that recordings recording are  Ok from both when running service menu tests.   So the question is what could be wrong with this setting ? Is it some known issue with this model?  So far I found that people are having the same problem if wearing hooded jackets or hats that probably may block the second microfone but that 's definitely not my case.

Hi.

After updating to 23.0.1.A.5.77 i start having problems.

1. People cant heat what i say.

2. "Dubbeltapping" failing several times.

Am i the only one having this problems and most important what can i do about it ?

My untranslated microphone has proved hard to hear intermittently for some time. When I aattach an external microphone and headset this works fine. Despite 3 attempts by Sony repairs to deal with this by re installing the operating system, and then the firmware they have failed to stop the Probl. Odd this endemic to the z3 compact? I am trying to get Sony to deal with it.

I've had problems with sound quality/no sound at all because of a crappy microphone since i bought my Z3C a couple months ago. After 2 service attempts by the dealer I got fed up,  sent the phone directly to Sony and got it back with the exact same answer I got the first 2 times. "Software updated, testing done without issues. Have the Noise suppression turned off". Well, since this didn't solve the problem the first two times I can tell you it didn't work the third time.

I've now come to realize I've bought a brand new phone that is completely and utterly useless since it's practically impossible to make a phone call. And since it's obvious that the company that made this phone, or at least their official service depots, won't fix the problem I'm going to do the following:

1. Throw my phone very hard against the nearest concrete wall.

2. Buy a new phone, obviously not a Sony.

3. Never, ever buy anything manufactured by Sony again.

At least this will solve my problem of not being able to make phone calls with my mobile phone...

Take it all back ...... just make sure you do not have your little finger on the left hand over the hole for the microphone which is the tiny hole on the underneath side of the phone on the right hand side.

It is not hte thin line on the front of the phone as I had thought.

Try again but only hold the side of the phone and the problem may disappear.

Yours contritely etc etc
