Z2 microphone

When talking on my Z2, people say that they can hardly hear me. I did contact Sony who informed me that this is not a known issue with the Z2 and that a software repair should resolve the issue, however after running the PCC repair, I am still facing the same issue. 

Z2 details - UK 4.4.4 - 23.0.1.A.0.167.

Any advice would be most welcome.

3 microphone noise suppression, check if it works better with this option off

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried it both off and on and there seems to be little difference.

Is this through regular phone calls or skype or other apps?

Regular calls and the holes are nice and clean/clear

Not sure I'd recommend, sent mine in to be fixed for a dodgy microphone and it just came back with physical damage to the casing, and a broken magnetic and usb port.
