Timeshift Video captures with 120 fps per second this means your shutter speed time is 1/120 of a second, this is not very much if you are in a not so bright area (for example indoors with a normal lightbulb) so the Camera has just 1/120 second time to caputre the light arround and this can be much darker then the 1/30 second wich is used in the normal shooting mode. If the camera hit's the maximum ISO there is no other way to stay at 1/120 sec then just produce a darker image
To be sure to make the same bright video you need a decent light source like the sun with forces the camera to user higher shutter speed all the time so you don't see any difference in lightning.
Hopefully this will clear it out for you
