Xperia Z2 headphone jack in phone doesnt work

I have a problem with my xperia Z2 headphone jack and this is the second time its happened. First time it did I changed the Text-to-speech output from Google to Pico TTS and it went back to functioning as normal. No that it has happened again, i've tried to switch back to Google and then back again to Pico TTS but still won't work. I've tried clearing the smart connect data, still won't work. Reset the phone, no change either. I've had the phone for 4 months now, never used it in water so I don't understand why the headphone jack is not working. The headphones work when I plug them in another device. Any help on this?

What if you try a different pair of headphones?

If that doesn't work then contact your local Xperia Care

Easy problem, try disabling or uninstall any Smart Connect app update, then update the thing again, restart, and voila -- your headphone jack starts working again

I know when my dad had this issue, you could feel that it was a hardware problem. Normally you can feel that small light click when plugging in any headphones into any jack. It has almost like a tiny click that let's you know it's in there. His phone didn't have that. It felt loose. And sure enough it was a hardware defect.

Do your headphones feel that tiny click when inserted all the way? Or does it feel loose?

Z2 got 5 poles, TRRRS against normal TRRS headphone jacks. All Z2 and Z3 (including the Walkman NW F887) i encounter doesn't click like normal headphone jack does... At least in my case

Please select your headphone first . Then connect your headphone with phone.

Was your dad's phone a Z2?

I don't recall hearing that small click even when the headphone jack was working, but I'd see the notification "headset connected" pop up in the notifications tab. Now there's no detection.
