Just a thought......
When you have it plugged in, the phone gets 100%
of the power needed
When you turn ON or OFF
DON'T have it plugged in, calibration will be affected
and think everything is fine 100%
Let the battery go very low and recalibrate.
perhaps having the phone plugged in, not needing the battery
is making it sad, and depressed......
just a thought.......
(ps- Z1s is a great phone, if you know how to use it)
I am so angry about the same problem with the battery. Sony's support is just a waste of time. My Xperia Z1 also have an issue with vibration as well as the battery. Both are issues widely shared (the first, from its manufacturing). But when I tried to get help by chat support, they just kept telling me I had to fix it with PCC. Obviously it didn't work. But, they gave me the same instructions again, even when I had already told them it didn't work!! How disappointing...
I will tell all the people I know it's better to get away from Sony's smartphones and their unuseful support.
Thank you for the place for catharsis.
Good luck!
P.S.: I am sorry if my English is as bad as I think it is.
I am using a xperia z1 it's battery drains very very fast.
My experience with the Z1 battery
Had the phone for a long time so lots of history
- The battery lasts about 2 years (I have now replaced it twice) now on 3rd battery
Signs that the battery is failing
- The battery swells and starts to push the rear panel off
- The battery will drop suddenly from about 40% - 70% charge and shut down usually after using the flash. You can recharge but it will gradually get worse.
Ways to prolong the battery
Alway update connected to charger
If rooted a nandroid backup could damage the battery as it seems to be very intensive on the phone and battery.
The battery is fairly easy to replace.
You will need two gaskets - one for the rear panel and one for the plastic inner frame which has to be removed (with the screws) to gain access to the battery.
One important tip when fitting the rear panel
Make sure the gasket is fitted correctly especially around the flash, if you don't fit it correctly you will get light bleed across the lens when taking photos with the flash.
In order to make sure you avoid this apply a double layer of 3m double sided tape to the CPU metalwork just below the flash - this helps hold it down
There is no other way to fix this issue except replacing the battery, so don't waste your time.
It take me about 30mins to install a new battery so not really a big deal and they can be purchased from ebay, all the batteries I have purchaced so far have been fine and are usually about $10 with the gaskets costing about another $5 (buy several of each gasket as they are tricky to fit)
Before putting on the rear panel check that everything is working on the phone, and then clean the camera lens and the rear panel lens before sealing up
