Xperia z1 very slow to unlock

Hi there, ive had my xperia Z1 around 6 months and have been very happy with it. However lately it has been extremely slow to unlock. From the moment of pressing the button on the side i have to wait up to 10 seconds for the screen to unlock. Sometimes it is nearly instant and other times its ages. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could try? I have already done a hard reset. I backed everything up, wiped it and started again. The problem is still there though.

Boot the phone in safe mode and see if anything changes:

legend thanks so much! I have no idea how this worked haha but it did! I went into safe mode, deleted a few third party apps then it worked fine! Thank you

I did not imagine that booting in safe mode was cleaning the memory/cache and resetting so much settings.

Permanent logins are lost and Widgets have to be reloaded. A bit tricky to set back the parameters and all logins but it worth it.

Maybe only empty the memory and the cache may be enough for a similar result.
