I also have the same problem that my xperia C6602 not getting charge and if you connect to the charger it just flashing only. I have given it to the Sony service center in Doha Qatar. I am very much disappointed to hear from that it cannot be repaired. I cannot believe it as the authorized service center itself saying it cannot be repaired

Hi @Jose123

If when turn on the Sony device only the red led light flashed multiple times, this could be because battery was fully drained or there was a problem with the boot. If you press the 3 buttons Power, Volume down and Volume up for about 8 seconds and then release them, the Sony logo would appear.

Also you can try connecting your device to a wall charger and then press and hold power & volume up for more than 10 seconds. Let it charge for 2 to 3 hours, even if it doesn't seem to be charging. As well, you can plugin the usb cable as you hold volume down.

I hope can be useful.

Well done dh and thanks so much, lifesaver. If your phone dies completly and won't start with vol/power buttons then battery has completly discharged (shouldn't be able to do this but does). I used 6v worth of batteries connected in series bodged onto docking contacts with wire for a couple of minutes...nothing appeared to happen, but when i plugged  charger back in, hey presto red light on then re boot, hallelulah. Thanks so much, typical that sony 'experts' on here no use at all, what you need is some random bloke tinkering in a shed, thanks again dh.:-)

I've been fighting this issue for the past few months, this is what worked for me.

I've used chat support (horrible) and I've used phone support (Also horrible, even talked to a manager) in every situation if the power + up doesn't work, they advise taking it in for service whereby they will have my phone for X number of weeks/months and then I get it back, and judging from the number of posts, the root cause is never addressed, therefore IMO sending it to service is a waste of time until Sony acknowleges the problem and has a proper solution. (Not Likely, but I would be thrilled.)

I've tried all of the following with no success:

- Holding down the power for a few min, then plugging in the phone

- Plugging in the charger while the holding down the power button

- Trying to hold down the power and up button

Things that have worked in the past:

- Leaving the phone on the charger for 24+ hours (This didn't work this time)

- Leaving the phone unplugged for 72 hours (Didn't have that kind of time)

I'm not sure why, but I have to use my iPad charger (2A) to charge my phone. If I plug it into the stock sony charger (I think it puts out 1.5A) the phone tells me it's discharging faster than it can charge, and no apps are running other than the stock apps.

Process:

1) Connect the charger to the phone.

2) Get a double A battery, and hook up some leads to it (You can secure them using tape)

3) Connect the positive lead to the docking terminal port nearest the USB charger port

4) Connect the negative lead to the docking terminal port fartest from the USB charger port

WARNING: I'm not 100% sure on the positive and negative connections here, when the light came on I was so happy I threw down the battery, so it's possible I got them mixed up from memory-- Verification from another brave soul would be helpful!

The red charging light should almost immediatly illiminate, if it does not you may elect to increase the power voltage (by using a 9V) but I didn't need to do this, and I'm not sure the results.

Actual milage may vary and this could very well blow up your device. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. In my particular situation based on the above arguments I didn't see a point to service (And likely the time it takes to get to service would have discharged the battery sufficiently). I actually need my phone to be on call, and thankfully this happened on Sunday and not Saturday WHILE I was on call.

Based on my experience with this charging issue and the kitkat upgrade that forces the most restricive security policy on some versions of Exchange, I would not recommend Sony mobile devices, but now that I have one, I'm stuck.

Keep your batteries charged kids. If this solution helped, please consider giving Kudos!

Just an addendum to the above, another user, elven heydon, tried dhing method too but says the polarity is reversed ie: neg. nearest usb, pos. furthest away. As dh was unsure i did it this way and it worked. Interestingly though, when light didn't immediately come on with batteries I connected both ways round out of desperation and no damage was done. Messing like this is at your own risk but it appears a pretty safe method, good luck.

Hi all.

I also faced the same problem.

At first i call sony center and they said have to send my phone to Sony HQ for inspection. Mehh..

Then i read this thread and  went to nearby mobile repair shop. The tecnician used high output charger (4.3 amp from Oppo R5)  to boost my z ultra battery. Alhamdulillah my phone come back to life. Yeah!

Hopefully this will.

I had the same problem a few minutes ago , i solved it by holding the Power button + the Volume Up button until it vibrated.

Then you just power the phone on as you normally would.

I hope this helped someone.

This worked beautifully panic over thank you :smileysmileywink:

I just had a similar issue caused by dropping my phone a small distance. I did not have warranty so I decided to remove the back panel to see if I could spot a problem. The problem was the circuit was broken from the battery to the phone. Attached to the battery is a orange-yellow flat cable like thing coming from the top of the battery. In my case it became loose from the port it was plugged into. The fix for me was to plug this back in, causing power from the battery to be allowed to make its way to the phone.

If you have warranty I suggest you do not fiddle wth removing the back as that will surely void your claim. If you do choose to pursue this method there are a few instructional videos on youtube on how to properly remove the back panel. It is not very hard if you have the confidance to attempt it!
