@HAYFAH - You are best to speak with your local Xperia Care team regarding having an assessment performed on your handset.

my situation is: before i sleep, my phone still left 50%+ battery, but morning i woke up, i can't switch or charge my phone

i found on youtube comment, try remove both your sdcard and sim card and try to charge it again

after both card removed, it WORKSSSS!!

after few minutes charging my phone, i start and found my phone battery drained up, that's why i can't use the "power button + volume up+down button" function

this is my situation and solution, hope can help you guys.

I found a solution!

My Xperia ZL randomly decided to stop taking a charge and let itself die, I tried many chargers and resetting the phone over and over. It would light up with a battery symbol but no lightning bolt charging symbol and if I tried to turn it on it would get to the menu display 1% and power off. After a couple hours of trying it finally randomly decided to charge again. It's been a week and yesterday it pulled the same thing on me again but after 24 hours I wasn't able to get it to take a charge even after leaving it plugged in for 8 hours while I was gone at work... I took a guess that the contacts are either dirty or oxidized so I put a couple drops of lighter fluid into the charging jack and scraped the contacts with a bobby pin. The lighter fluid took less than a minute to dry out, I plugged in my usb cable and the battery symbol appeared with the lightning bolt, after a couple minutes charging I turned it on and 4% charged and still charging! Of course I don't recommend doing this if you aren't comfortable... I only did it because I bought unlocked off ebay for 200bucks and don't have any warranty for it (also the whole jumpstarting the phone with a battery sounded too complicated for me ahah).

Thank you everyone on this forum, theholding down of the power on and volume button until it vibrates is thebest tip, myphone failed earlier this morning, I have only had it since February and it has been a great phone until today, thanks for posting advice, it really does work .:smileyhappy:

I had the same problem (phone not charging while connected to main after full battery drain)

However, just when I had tried all the options (pressing buttons, leaving it plugged etc.) and was considering to hook it up to a physical battery and 'jumpstart' it, I wanted to try one last thing - and it worked!

I had my laptop PLUGGED and CHARGING...so I hooked up my Xperia Z (with magnetic dock) to one of the USB ports. It immediately started taking charge - and fast Slightly_smiling_Face
Now it's showing the charging icon screen - I left it off to let it charge without further battery drain.

I don't know if this is because the laptop is on charge itself (so maybe it 'forces' the electricity to go through) but it worked.

Just in case anybody wants to give this a try;
-I am charging using the magnetic dock/ports (might work even via usb port)
-USB ports are USB 3.0 (probably even 2.0 will work)
-Charging cable not a Sony one (couldn't find it so I improvised with an HTC cable) so will probably work with any cable
-Have the laptop itself CHARGING (usually laptops automatically have less USB power output when not plugged to save battery)

Hope this helps...good luck guys Slightly_smiling_Face

1.Dissasembly your phone.

2.Take off your battery

3.Plug back battery.

4.Switch on Phone!

I have the same problem, i''ll do the same things, and now my phone works great. Slightly_smiling_Face

If you have warranty, stop by a service centre.

If not try to flash through flashtool.Search before doing that.Be careful.

I am having a problem with my xperia z not turning on. My phone started turning off randomly 2 weeks ago,

It then started working with the charger connected to it. soon as i unplugged the charger it would only turn off if i unlocked the screen, it would stay on the lock screen forever and not turn off until i actually used it.

I have tried factory resetting and using the sony companion app to repair it but had no luck. (also tried safe mode and recovery mode)

It has now got to the point where it will not turn on with the charger or without, it just boots to the sony xperia screen then turns off and keeps going on repeated loop till the battery dies, if its plugged into the charger it will reset it self over and over and sometimes charge after numerous amounts of restarts but will still not turn on no matter what i do.

could someone please tell me if its software or hardware related and if hardware what part would it be that needs replacing
