Xperia notification and screen light up

Hi guys, 

So I've had my Xperia z5 for a year now and i was just wondering why the phone does not light up when notifications appear instead I only get the sound to notify me of a notification and I would have to download apps like acdisplay and stuff just to be able to see the notifications on my screen and I was wondering if there's a way to fix that?

Hi!
I believe that depends on Xperia UI or the apps. Im saying this because Snapchat is the only app i have that can wake the display.
