Wifi keeps disconnecting

So after the last update I got for my phone, the wifi keeps disconnecting, I'm sure it started after update, it's not the routers fault, no other device is encountering this issue, the setting to keep wifi connected even when the phone sleeps is on. I tried all the regular, default fixes/suggestions, but none of them helped. So I'm quite sure it has something to do with the update, though I'm not seeing anyone else having this issue, so not sure what happened, and why it affected only my phone in such way exclusively.

Build: 32.3.A.2.33

I'm having this problem too. My Xperia Z5+ keeps trying to connect but can't.  Please fix this ASAP, Sony.

i never had any problems with wifi with marshmellow  but both editions of nougat have made my phone unstable and unreliable.

sometimes the screen will show the "wifi calling" icon and look as if all is fine...  but the battery drain will be high...  but a reboot and suddenly loads of texts & data based messages will flood in..

sometimes the wifi will show as a "?"  and when looking at the available list it will show wifi names that were available earlier and miles away from where i am now  - and there is no way to manualy make it refresh, the option in the wifi menu does nothing when selected.

sometimes it will show wifi as connected but no internet... of course only if you look at the drop down

sony gb on twitter just says to try "safe mode"  but how do you monitor for an ad hoc "hard to see" error by being in safe mode ??     and their second solution is to firmware repair via the pc... but i have done that once already and nothing improved.   wifi with 7 is clearly duff and it is ruining a once excellent phone.

yesterday my phone booted up, connected to my home wifi automatically and displayed ee's wifi calling was active

i left my house and went to various places.  in each place the phone showed a local set of wifi options.

(i have removed all saved locations that are not my house, a pub and my gym... and removed apps that enabled access to wifi hotsopts provided by other telcom companies i subscribe to)

several hours later i returned home, my phone connected to my home wifi and again displayed ee wifi calling was active.  all of this was automatic.

i got changed, and went out to a pub (not the one stored)...  i looked at my phone and the wifi icon showed a "?"  - i double pulled down the screen and selected the wifi icon... the list of available wifi was the list i see at home.   the phone wasn't rebooted or turned off all day but it had stopped "refreshing" it's self...    the battery level was still above 30% and stamina is not set to come on that high.

there is a problem with the wifi with 7.0.x  as i never had this issue with 6

I found that WiFi was in the battery saving part of phone  I excluded WiFi and the phone is now 100% stable.
