Hi,
I just joined the forum because I was having a couple of problems and now one of them is fixed!
My network is Telstra in Australia and about a month ago, the system update (23.0.1.A.0.167) dropped my hotspot capability. I e-mailed Sony via the support link and their recommendation was to ":repair" the phone. So I did double backups and followed the process through - and then had to restore all my data, apps &c which still left me with some data missing and a significant download usage (fortunately via the home router). It did appear to fix the problem, but today when I needed the hotspot again, it wasn't working. I tried several suggestions including "safe mode" and a Whirlpool forum suggestion of updating the APN settings via the Telstra website and nothing worked.
I've now done a "reset to default" in the APN settings - and it's working again.Brilliant. Thank you.
I had the same issue (I'm on Three network, in the UK). I went into Settings / More / Access Point Names / Menu (3 vertical dots) / Reset to default. This immediately fixed the problem, but I found that, when I disconnected the mobile hotspot, my internet connection disappeared (i.e., I was unable to get data directly on the phone. I turned the mobile data off and on and that fixed it. I tried another cycle of hotspot on, access internet from the connected device, then hotspot off and the problem did not return. This does look like a solid fix, regardless of network... Thanks! pva
Im having the same problem with the hotspot not working since the software update to lollipop 5.0.2. im on the three network, it states Connected but no internet access. Any ideas......
Using the new update lollipop and Having the same issue as the people above unable to tether USB/ hotspot WiFi to any devices since the update. Have reset to factory, used new apn info but still no change. Due to my remote location I can't use Sony companion to try repair the update if something has gone wrong, due to only access for Internet is from my phone tether. Also on 3 network UK located.
My phone generally just feels sluggish Aswell, battery is taking a hammering but also 7+hours for a recharge but only a few hours use then needs to be charged again.
Hopefully someone comes up with a work around soon.
Sorry but I have the same problem and I can't solve it. I have the problem with Movistar chip in Perú, but if I change to CLARO, the problem is solved.
I've conected my computer to my mobile hotspot but i am not getting internet access
