WiFi - Exclamation Mark!

Hey guys this phone is amazing and is working fine, however ever since I got it my WiFi has had an exclamation mark next to it all the time, whether I'm hooked onto my home network, or my work network. The wireless works perfectly fine, extremely fast etc. However it's just a little annoyance as the exclamation mark is always there, even when mobile data is disabled?

Any help?

I get that too. From what I was able to determine the "!" means "internet connection unstable". Actually that is what my old Samsung S4 used to say instead. I suppose it tries to contact google server at some time interval and if it cannot contact it puts "!". Even if connection is good after, I think it just leaves the "!" there. Have to disconnect and reconnect to clear it. In my case it happens when my ISP drops the connection and they change my IP address. The router reconnects within a minute or so but that gets me an "!" on my Xperia wifi icon ...

Can someone tell me what the exclamation sign on my status bar means? Please help me deactivate it or remove it. I don't know how can I add the screenshot I made in this message...

Ok spent countless HOURS on this problem, Its NOT THE PHONE exactly. You need to Delete your wifi SSID in your ROUTER and Make a new SSID and password. This happens more so when there has been some change such as a NEW phone the router can keep the unique coding for the old phone and a cross check and log you out with authenticity issues and puts the exclamation mark next to the Wifi on your phone. Tech support as useless as on a bull. 2 The other thing that can happen is the Router information becomes corrupt just like windows files become corrupt over time. 3 i spat at buying this phone had nothing but wifi problems for weeks im worse that a dog with a bone was so full on OCD that i had to fix it. A So i deleted the WiFi SSID in my router rebooted it. B Made up a new SSID in my router and rebooted. C deleted the old Wifi SSID in my PHONE. D searched for Wifi connection on my phone found my NEW wifi connection entered all the details and since that day my wifi works everywhere around my very large yard through wall everything. Hope this helps others Slightly_smiling_Face

When you initially connect, check your browser for a prompt. The same thing happened to me, I went to connect, it said saved and there was an "!" next to my WiFi symbol. Then I got a notification saying "check browser to complete connection". It was a prompt from the WiFi to accept the terms and conditions. I clicked "ok" and the WiFi connected.

I just got the latest XZP Dual (G8142) with Android 7.1.1

I am having connection issue with WiFi router.  I have three routers at home.  One of them has VPN, and this router connects to the XZP very quickly.  The other two were impossible, both routers have issue being disussion here.  XZP will connect to the WiFi router, but that's all, no internet.

I read some suggested about tweaking the router in order for their SONY phone to connect.  But will that affect other devices that connects to such router?  In addition, when you are outside, there must be occassions that one will need to connect to other Wifis available, then what will you do?  You can't tweak other people's wifi router!

It seems to me that this is more of an issue with SONY XZP or the OS or Android.  In my household, there are at least 10 or more devices (both iOs and Android) connecting to the wifi router.  But none of them exhibit this problem.

Has SONY officially come out to address this matter?  This is enough reason not to keep this brand new flagship!
