Weak Wi-Fi signal after Android 6 update

In new version of Android 6 z3 the phone speed very low and signal wifi very weak is very bad please fix the bug

Solved after flashing to latest lolipop firmware. Took me 1 hour to adjust my fav settings and apps but works like before. Phone is much faster, wifi is snapy, no more top menu crazy behaviour and im sure even battery is charging is faster than marshmallow.

I had problems with obtaining IP addres. No problems when in same room with AP, but no possible in other rooms, where still signal is strong (tested with installed soft for measurments). From settings->developer options I choose "Use legacy DHCP client", which use Loliopop insted the new one client, and everything is OK now.

Same issue here. I have a Z3 Compact (D5803) and recently updated to MM. The first time I noticed something's wrong was when I couldn't get any wifi signal while others could. Afterwards I saw that the signal was weak altough I was in the same room with the router. If I leave the room the phone disconnects from the network.

This is completly unacceptable.

Is there someone from Sony who reads this? I really wonder..

Since I upgraded to 6.0.1 on my Z3 issues with WiFi and Bluetooth... Both do not work and will not switch on from quick Dropdown from top of screen...not impressed by latest software 😤

I have acquired Sony Xperia z3c only recently and upgraded the new device straight to MM 6.0.1, so no experience with previous versions.
I think there may be some improvement using the Lollipop DHCP client, however compare with my other phone Samsung S4 mini (Kitkat) the wifi performance is considerably weaker. Measuring wifi with speedtest.net app I get such different results as 6-8 Mbps with Samsung and 2-3 Mbps with Xperia z3c. At other places where the wifi is even weaker (1-2 Mbps), the S4 mini is still capable of downloading stuff, whereas xperia hardly connects and if so then keeps dropping the connection. I wonder whether the issue is possibly linked to the MM battery optimization, as there is no more the option of not saving battery using wifi. Within the optimized processes I've picked com.sonymobile.wifi to not optimize and seems to me that the wifi connection has improved slightly.
Any other suggestions in terms of improving wifi performance through power settings?

Com'on man, it's not the signal displayed on the top but it's the actual strength... My Z3 has trouble connecting to the network from the same distance my friend's phone is found doing remarkable download/uploads... Actual strength has gone down... Trust me

You are absolutely right, the WiFi signal strenght has been affected by this new update, but not all phones are affected, that is why Sony Support does not do anything about it and replies with "go to your local service..". Well, I don't want to be without the phone for a week for the 4th time this year, considering it worked fine until that upgrade!

Sony should have introduce an option to Rollback to the previous WORKING software (Android 5.1).

Hi, it seems that you're reporting a fix for a false indicator of wifi signal on the Z3, but is there a fix for worsened wifi reception? As others seem to be reporting here, my Z3 cannot connect to the wifi in the exact same locations as it could before the latest updates/loads incredibly slowly when it is connected. My internet is FTTP50mb/s down, and other wifi devices work flawlessly with it so it would appear to be a problem with the phone. Any advice? thanks

Also is it okay that the advanced Wi-Fi settings has gone!!? Im using xperia m4 aqua marshmallow 6.0.1, the wifi signal strength never reach excellent no matter how I get close to the router!

Same issue with M4 aqua E2333 marshmallow 6.0.1, wifi is always "fair" or "poor" best case is "good" when im 2 inches far from the router,back there in lollipop it was always "excellent", there is no advanced wifi setting and I can't change the frequency band... So disappointed from this bug which wasn't there in lollipop
