Update for Xperia Z1 failed

Hello everyone,

yesterday my xperia z1 notify me that there is a new updated and its should be done through the PC, accordingly I made and the update through the Sony PC compression, however, the update failed and unfortunately my mobile stuck into a message that state " the software update failed make sure that your phone is connect ... " , moreover I read on the community about couple of smellier cases and I found that I have to charge it through the wall charger for 30min while making that the phone is turned off by pressing the power+volume up at the same time for 10sec and then re-do the update but it did not work; each time I connect it to wall charger it keeps turn on and show the same massage regard the software failure and turn off again and again .....

Hopefully that its not a series issue that can be solved,

Hi,

Sorry to hear that the update failed. Make sure that the phone is not connected to a power source, hold the ON/OFF button + volume up(+) for about 5-10 seconds and your unit should power OFF. Connect the phone to a power source and let the phone charge for about an hour or two.

In PC Companion you can perform a software repair, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message). Note the phone should not be connected while you follow these steps.

Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

Thank Hampus for your prompt respond,  please note that I did press the ON/OFF button + volume up(+) for about 5-10 seconds before I connect it to the power source and each time I connect it to the power source the phone automatically turns on having the massage that state ' software update was failed ... " and then turn off and then on and so on ... So is that OK ?

Have you tried to run a repair on your phone using either PC Companion or SUS found here

or if you would like to use PCC then here is a guide on how to do it

After you have forced a shutdown with with this key combination, connect it to a wall socket and let it charge even if it powers ON. When you are going to perform the software repair, your unit should be completely OFF. If the phone is on and shows the Sony/Xperia logo after you have charged it, force a shutdown with power button + volume up(+) and follow the instructions from my previous post.

Finally i managed to solove the issue through the SUS.

and the phone notify me again that there is a new system update is available ... so do think i do it again through the PCC ???

I also experiencing the same..my laptop is out of battery and it turned off while my xperia z1 is started to update, and prompt on the screen says, "The software update failed". i tried to reconnect it to my laptop and my phone starts to on and off with the same prompt. Please help! tnx!

Same as the others, 52% charged, pc fine, crashed and burned. "update not completed, check connections.....". Sony closed down USS a week ago, so thats not an option. The reset button has no effect. Same message comes up everytime I try to charge. PC loads a driver "sony Flash drive"  or something like Sony SOAS. I am desperate, my mother died 19th July and this phone has the last photos of her and her great grandchild, they saved to internal memory, not sd. I didnt back up, I didnt expect this. I am Desperate! Please help me out.

To update, if i connect to another usb socket (im running out) I get driver installing, then SOMC installed correctly. Still desperate. I dont want to use the xperia repair option as it will erase my photos and irreplaceable recordings. It doesnt show up as a drive in my computer. I really cant handle losing that stuff. I will try anything. Regards
