I know that, by default, the D6616 comes SIM-locked to T-Mobile and the bootloader is not unlockable.
However, if it becomes SIM-unlocked (say, by request to T-Mobile after 40 days on their service), does the bootloader also become unlockable at that point? Or is the bootloader permanently locked, regardless of SIM-status?
(I read some things that indicate either possibility, so I was hoping for clarification if anyone knew.)

As you can read on the other threads, this was requested by T-mobile, and it will never change unless you replace the motherboard which will cost you as much as a new phone
Thanks. Found some other stuff that was contradictory in a few places and was curious if this was the final verdict. It's as I suspected.
