If you have internet enabled, follow this:

If not, you need to perform a software repair using PC Companion.

It's the pin you entered twice immediately before setting up your fingerprint.

Hi @tlg,

If you don't remember the PIN code that you chose when configuring the fingerprint manager you can try to set a new PIN lock using my Xperia or Android Device Manager. Check the link the alexdon provided.

If this does not work then you will have to perform a software repair using PC Companion as alexdon also mentioned.

Dropped my phone and the screen cracked soo badly that the touch no longer works and the fingerprint is now constantly locked. I need to unlock my phone to back things up before sending for repair but even after resetting the phone using the volume buttons the fingerprint function is still locked.

Anything I can do?

Hi @Ben6, sorry to hear about your phone. Slightly_frowning_Face

After rebooting the phone you need to unlock it using the PIN code before you can unlock it using the fingerprint sensor.

In this case I'd recommend that you use a USB OTG cable to connect a normal PC mouse via USB to your phone. This will allow you to use the mouse to unlock the screen. In order for the mouse to connect to the phone you need to power on your phone with the mouse connect to it.

Note that if you have updated to Android 6 you still need to choose connection mode when you connect the phone to your PC so you won't be able to backup using Xperia Companion. If you have an SD card you could backup to it or to your online account through the phone's settings menu instead.

You can access this backup feature in Settings > Backup & reset > More > Manual backup.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

I'm making a claim as my phone is a bit smashed up and the top half of the screen doesn't work- so I can't trype my pin in without that part of the screen to unlock it with my pin and after restarting it won't accept my fingerprint.

So I tried the method with the Xperia Companion and my phone is connected to my google account. But it seems the phone doesn't have USB enabled as although its charging the program can't pick it up! Nor can Syncios.

Ias there any other way I can save my data and media and things before posting this off, or a number I can call to answer security questions maybe?

You help is very much appreciated, thank you.
