Two Apps working together possible or not?

Hi

I am a new user from Stuttgart Germany and puchased my

Xperia Z3+ (E6553) last week (Feb 2016).

The SW is up to date (28.0.A.8.266;  Android 5.0.2).

All thinks are fine except one little problem.

I have two important apps which I want to use both at the same time.

I am a little bit older and this Z3+ is my first smartphone so I do not

know even if it works anyway, to have two (or even more) Apps running

at the same time at the same Mobile.

First App is the Garmin navigon app. This App was already installed on my

Phone and after 30 days I can run free one country but have to by other countries.

This works fine. I will have Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria active.

The second App is the "Blitzer.de plus" App. This App is a special german App

because we have thousands of speed cameras in Germany and the police always

tries to catch people who drive to fast. I do not drive fast, but even they "blitz" you if you

drive 35 kmh in a 30 kmh  area. So This is a mess and I want to avoid this radar traps.

The "blitzer app" is a dynamic database and if someone recognize a "Blitzer" then

he will push a key and the POI will be added to the database. If the "Blitzer" dissapear

also the next guy will announce, that the "Blitzer" is dissapear by pressing another key

and the "Blitzer" will be erased from the  database. So its a fully dynamic database

and it works perfectly because millions of  drivers are working together fighting agains

this rip-off from government.

Permanent Blitzers are included anyway in the database. So we have somewhat

around 100000 POIs related to this topic.Depending how much dynamic Blitzers

are recocnized actually in the database

Ok.

Both Apps are working perfectly if they work alone. But I would like to have both

working at the same time. I want to use the Garmin App to find the way in a foreign

environment. And at the same time I should be alerted if a "Blitzer" is appearing to

avoid me running into the radar trap/speed trap. Ok Garmin has also a Blitzer

application inside but its thus much more worse than the "Blitzer.de" App.

Is this possible in general?

Sorry If I posted on the wrong place but I searched the forum and I studied the FAQ

but no related topic was found.

Best regards from Stuttgart Germany

Hi

After some slight modifications now it seems to work.

I did some tests this morning.

First of all do not configure any of these Apps during using it together.

Configure the apps and than start them completly new.

Configure that the bltzer App starts as widget and is automatically in

the background. Then start first the Blitzer.de app and after the

blitzer app has found the location of the car with GPS

and there is a icone in the upper left corner then of the phone, then

start the garmin app. (Some times the garmin app has no voice

(3 of 10 times) then start all the stuff and apps from the beginning.

On the Blitzer.de App I had voice for info but now I swiched to a brrreeep.

The voice, even if you choice the max volume is much less than the

garmin app voice. The brrrrrbeep is very better to hear in my loud italian FIAT Car.

So it works now. I use the garmin and if a dangerous situation appears the widget

appears and the brrrrbeeep remembers me that there is a POI in front.

Thats all for today. If I find out more I will write it down here.

Unless the app developer has enabled the app to work in the background then I don't think it's possible. I know that Garmin needs to be on top so you can follow its navigation directions, but for the blitzer app I use "Waze". It's the same idea and has a lot of users, and most importantly you can minimize it and it will still be active and reporting incoming speed traps by voice.

I suggest that you contact Blitzer.de app developer from its Google Play Store page and suggest/inquire about enabling background activity.

Thanx for this answer.

There are 2 kinds of "Blitzer.de" Apps.

1.) One "blitzer.de" App is for free and you cannot put it in the background.

2.) The other one "Blitzer.de PLUS" (I have this) cost 4,95 Euros and one should be able to put it in the background.

Yes I put the "blitzer.de PLUS" app in the background to start the garmin app.

First I started the blitzer.de PLUS App and put this in the backround and it works perfectly.

But after activating the garmin app blitzer.de Plus is quite and says nothing more.

This is my problem.

This might be again a coding problem from Garmin app, it might be taking full control of phone speakers and not allowing other apps to use it while it's on. Can you try sending your Blitzer app to the background while another sound app running (Like Sony Music app) and test if Blitzer will be active and sending reports or not?
