to update nougat update 7.1.1 or not?

I read so many 7.1.1 update problems on xperia z5 that I wonder if it's worthwhile to upgrade (on my Z5 compact). Anyone had a smooth upgrade without problems after update? No battery drain problem after upgrade?

Ok, so most of users here are not happy with the updrade... 

I have a question, I still haven't received any notification about 7.1.1 for my z5c... Is that normal? And what should I do?

Everything works perfectly after ich update, and also perfect on 7.1.1 !!! With every Android update Sony make good new contributions for making Xperia more perfect. I don't understand, why some people have so many problems after updates... Maybe that people have damaged and badly repaired devises or not new device, or used and refubrished devices sold as new.... Or maybe it is black advertising of other mobile companies... 

Sony is the best! My z5 Prem. is working very very good. Battery life is 2-3 days, iven sometimes 4 days on 7.1.1 (4days with 4,5 hovers of screen)! No heating, iven using Youtube via 3g! UI is very fast, no lags at all. Camera perfect, now in Superior Auto taking very good picters at lowlight scene like in night, iven by moonlight! The sound of stereo speakers becomes really loud and balanced top and bottom speakers. There is a useful manual control of display brightness in auto mode.

P.S. You should always do factory reset befor, or alrady after the firmware update, and dont restore sattings. So there will not be any bugs! Good luck!

I woudn't recommend it. Videos hardware playback is stuttering completely with nougat. I downgraded to Marshmallow and everything better.

On Marshmallow battery drained in 1-2 days and my phone was warm iven using internet browseing with WiFi. In Virtual Reality apps battary drained and phone was getting realy hot, so after 30 minutes I shut it down for cooling. 

Now on 7.1.1 my z5 Premium always cold and there is no any performance reduce in video o gaming or other apps. My phone is fast like a lightning!!! In the same Virtual Riality apps there is No Overheating! I play RetroRongLevel VR  for 30 -40 minutes, and phone becomes only slightly warm, Not Hot like it was on Marshmallow!  And battery lost only 7%! Perfect! So,I recommend 7.1.1 update!

@AleksF2017: did you download a x265 (or UHD) test file and tried it with the stock Sony video App (better even, try this with a mkv container file). Is your Z5 Premium really NOT lagging? Can't image that, except that dual sim version got special treatment with this bug.

Also, I could not even go into the developer mode/setting, always hanging/crashing! Did you try that already?

One side I do agree is that the phone got somehow cooler, but did you ask why?
Because they have trimmed the performance markedly, not really ideal don't you think?

4k video and 4k sbs video works in Stock Album app. absolutely normal without any bugs and stucks. The phone is warm, not Hot!

Developer mode OK.

And I don't finde any performance reduce. Fast same as with previous updates! Any problem!

If there are problems with fingerprint sensor hardware in 7.1.1 !

(here a solution for fingerprint issues with my Xperia Z5! )

my Workaround was:

I have to activate Sony Movie Creator again

(this software was deactivated since the Version Marshmallow) and then

i update to latest version in Google Play Store.

After reboot always works fine with Android Nougat 7.1.1

Now Fingerprinthardware works again and also menu entry appears in settings (display & security) !
