I have similar problem. The same information pops out when I try to use tethering. I have network connection and my WiFi works of It use it from other phone. After downloading android system updates tethering won't work. Prior to that it was working perfectly. What do I do to make it work? Any advise? Please help!
Hi all, I have the Sony xperia z2 on 3mobile. Since the Lollipop update I've not been able to tether my connection to any device, can some please tell me when this is going to be sorted plus are we going to be compensated in anyway? Thanks for reading and I await your reply.

This is happening to me too however it was doing from new before the recent up date from Sony / Android . The phone came from Argos and i just transfered my old 3 sim of unlimited internet package with the hope that it would work as a portable hotspot on 4g but we don't get 4g where i live atm and the phone comes up with the Tethering Error also . However, my partner upgraded her 3 phone via 3 to get her Xperia Z2 and her phone does tether but it hasn't had the software update loaded on it which seems to be causing everybody elses error . Come on Sony what have you done disabled the Tethering capabilities on the Z2's ???
