tap to unlock change the battery drain?

Hello, I'm using a silicon cover ( not a cheap brand cover) due to the volume rocker is too close to the unlock button and they are covered I switched to the tap to unlock function. So, my question is:
Will this function mantain enabled and " live" the tactile sensor while the screen is turned off and locked and increase the battery drain compared to the " standard" lock/unlock or it is ininfluence?

Indeed it will drain your battery faster, it shouldn't be a huge difference
