Hello everyone, i have a "sudden shut down problem" with my Xperia Z1 C6903 too.
Sudden Shutdown always happens at about 70% for the first time, after been fully charged. I cant turn it on right afterwards but if i wait 1 min. it works. However sooner or later the phone, somewhere between the remaining battery, will repeatedly shut down again. I couldnt find out what triggers it and android battery test show that the battery is ok.
I am not an expert with these devices, but i hope it is a software or calibration problem?
There is a similar threat which points to the solution of using Sony PC Companion Software repair, i tryed it twice and it did NOT help!
edit:
I havent changed the device after PC Companion repair step, thus no other Apps are running and no energy managment has been configured (stamina mode)
edit 2:
hidden battery info * # * # 4 6 3 6 # * # * shows:
...
battery health: good
battery voltage: 3969 mV
battery temperature: 36.6° C
...
is there a way which gives me more details than just "good"? And what does that even mean?
how much do sony charge to replace the battery? i don't want to send it and find out that they charge an extortionate amount of money to replace it as it would then cost me to receive the phone back
my phone is still under guarantee but as far as i'm aware, sony have put in a clause so they don't have to replace the battery for any reason
No one can answer that question here on the forum, check with your local Xperia Care
I have this same problem since LP upgrade
The battery will drain from 40% - 50% approx to 1% in seconds and the phone will shut down, put on charger for 10 mins and the battery shows 91% charge - now that can't be right, no issues on KK
There is something seriously wrong with how the battery level is monitored in LP, I have also read on the internet many other people with this issue not just Sony - even Nexus (Googles own hardware)
What can also trigger this event is a shutdown restart of the phone even when the battery is at 60%
This needs urgent attention
I had the same problem and I went to a sony service center. As they told to me they re-flash firmware (something we can’t do by PCC or other tool as I know) and now my mobile is working as well as new. This is the only solution as far as I can see coz nothing help me beside that (like S/W updates, S/W repair, Factory reset)
Hope you got the answer.
Have got the same problem when upgraded to 5.0.2
And the problme exist with 5.1.1
Rolled back to 4.4.4 and the problem dissapered
IPaltus How did you solved it with rollback to 4.4.4. Did you flash it, do you have instructions?. I like to hear it please
I have even changed my battery then also it is showing the same problem
