Strange SD card volume / mount point name

1.  Open contacts > Edit a contact

2.  change contact photo

3.  Choose photo from Album

4.  Settings > Enable (default enabled) Display advanced devices

I see strange volume name for the SD card ... M-^IPNG^M^J^Z^J in my case.  Please refer to attached screenshot.  Anyone has something similar?  How to change the name?

Actually I was thinking the same ... so, before readying your post, I took out the SD card and inserted it into my Mac ... it has "NO NAME" volume label.  So, I changed it to "SOMETHING" and insert it back to Z3. Bingo ... it displayed as "SOMETHING."

Now 2 more extended questions:

1.  why can't Z3 display it as "NO NAME" before?

2.  any app (Z3 or Android app) to change SD card volume lable?

Thanks.

Below that app, the mount point name ( highlighted black) on those apps (Drive) did happened on my Xperia S, thats problably a bug on that. Its similar. It happens on my Home Screen and App Drawer, not really appears, sometime to appear. The mount point name, 1) try to go back to homescreen and check back again, or 2) lock your phone (stanby mode) wait few seconds and check back again.

In that menu, the phone will display the volume label of your SD-card. Have you checked the label using a computer? You can do that and change the label if you set the phone to MSC-mode under Settings -> Xperia Connectivity -> USB Connectivity -> USB connection mode. When you then connect the phone to your computer you will see the label in your computers explorer and you can change it.

This doesn't happen for me. If i remove the volume label on my SD it will instead display "SD Card" there. If i set the volume label to "NO NAME" it will also display "SD Card". My PC does the same thing, removing the label and setting it to "NO NAME" gives the same result in explorer.
Could it perhaps be that the volume label was set incorrectly on your SD card? Try changing it back and see what happens.

I don't know of any way to change it from the phone.
