STAMINA Mode on Xperia Z with Android 4.3

Hey guys,

So recently I've been using STAMINA mode a little more than usual. However, I noticed that it's not actually doing its job, almost at all.

For starters, if I leave my Wi-Fi on, and turn STAMINA mode ON as well, I still receive most of my notifications even if the screen is closed. And I don't have any apps added to STAMINA exceptions.

Furthermore, the battery drainage remains almost the same. Instead of saving my power, it just does nothing, battery levels drop just as fast as without using STAMINA mode.

The only difference I see between STAMINA ON and OFF is when the screen is turned on, because it dims the brightness and battery life is a little extended.

What should I do? It really annoys me that it has almost no effect with screen turned off.

You might have the option to keep wifi on during sleep.

Haha. That's brilliant.

I was messing with Wi-Fi settings the other days, but it never occured to me that STAMINA mode wouldn't override those settings.

I'll try to set it to NEVER and see what happens.

Didn't work. At all.

And now I have another problem. I had STAMINA mode on for the whole morning. Unplugged my phone at 100% battery at around 7 a.m. Without hardly using it, my battery drained to 11% until 11.30 a.m. I only used the phone to check the time and used an application for approximately 10 minutes.

So I checked the battery levels and what was draining it, and it said Google Services - 95% or battery usage came from there. Well, this is something that I can't really "Force Stop" on my unrooted phone. So I didn't know what to do. I turned on the Low Battery option as well.

Still nothing. My phone got to 5% and I had the inspiration to turn off location services completely. And it seemed to fix the problem.

Why is this happening? First STAMINA doesn't work, then Google Services eats 95% of my battery in 4 hours.

What should I do?

Hi!

I have the EXACT same problem with my phone! I got it after the last update to kitkat.

I'll try to delete this version and go back to Jellybean. I'll let you know.

same issue with my XZ 4.3.. battery gets drain fast. have to disabled  Google and Location Services and no good. battery life is just a pain in my **bleep**. and i also i cant update the Firmware to 4.4 to check if this bug is fix on KK but the Software Update said i got the latest version of my XZ.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the extremely late response, I had an exam session at the Unversity.

Anyway, I found out that I had to turn off my 

Settings > Location Services > Let Google apps acces you location > Diasable.

Thank you alexdon, that actually worked after I figured out that I needed to Disable the Google Apps Location service.
