Sony Xperia Z5 Power button sticking

Hi all,

Around a year ago I started experience the power button sticking and being difficult to use.  It's now getting to the stage where I'm having to press it so hard that I'm getting callouses on my fingers, similar to how I do when I play my guitar!  When speaking to Vodafone about it last year (from whom I got the phone) I was told it was unlikely to be a design flaw and this is normal with power buttons over time.

Does anyone have any experience with fixing these, because I'm almost at that stage where I'd consider a brand new phone.

Can u be more brief? Is it happening at room temperature 27 deg ? at high temperatures>37 deg? Cold temperature <25deg?  if it happens at higher temps then it can be sortable by bringing down to cold temps in device.  Clean with V end of the paper around the power button...seems some dust or some dirt is blocking it.
