Hi,

I have a brand new Sony Xperia Z5 Compact,

THIS is not the case using a bluetooth device to make the calls with.

Please advice what to do ?

Versionnumber : 32.0.A.6.152

Best regards
Jan

Hello. I have the same problem. Somebody know If this is a software or hardware issue?

I have this issue as well. Resetting the phone does not help. I have a white compact which also had the touch screen issue, if that makes any difference.

Firmware version 32.0.A.6.152

I am having same issue - in Melbourne, Australia, with a phone less than 2 weeks old.

Has not worked properly since new - whether incoming or outgoing call, other party has trouble hearing me due to severe echo.

Am off to the carrier, Telstra, this afternoon to try to replace.

I'm very sorry to hear this.

If there's echo for the counterpart and this happens regardless of who's calling or who you're calling, please contact a service location to have your phone checked and fixed. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

I have received some new information about this.

You may experience that there is an echo in your Z5 Compact during a phone call or a delayed echo after about ten seconds from call start. Improvements to the audio experience during call will be available in a coming software update around week 48 or 49.

Evri from Switzerland.
The same problem.
I try calls at Greece, United Kingdom, and Switzerland all the same ECHO
So when it comes this week 48 or 49 December?
I wait or I destroy it?

I'm sorry to hear that.

Our goal is of course to release the update as soon as possible but I’m afraid it’s not possible for us to guarantee that the update will be available a certain week. As with any software update, the availability will vary by market and/or operator. The latest information I received points to around week 48/49 but that may change. I’m very sorry for not being clear about this being a plan.

Without investigation of your unit, it’s also hard to say for sure what’s causing the echo. We have made improvements to the audio experience in the next firmware so if possible, I recommend that you wait and try the new version when available but it’s possible that there’s another cause for the echo in your case and something that we need to investigate and fix at a service location.

I bought my Z5C one week ago and I am suffering the same voice echo issue described here. The echo lasts around 30 seconds and then it dissapears. Although it is a short time, the echo is very noticeable and disturbing for the other party who is calling me.

The fact is that after repairing the device via PCCompanion and trying all sorts of call settins, the echo persists.

Have you managed to solve this problem? Any news about upcoming software updates that fix it?

No idea if this issue is related to hardware or software. Don't know if it affects all models or only certain product numbers/revs either.

Thanks!!

Dw3 have you tried the new firmware released today/yesterday? I mean 32.0.A.6.200. A moderator mentioned in this thread that the update in december (week 48/49) would improve call phone experience so It might bring a solution. I cannot get the update via OTA nor PCC yet. Has anyone checked if the echo voice persists with the new firmware?
