My Z2 had so far only displayed various slightly annoying software issues, but the hardware had been just about perfect, except for the camera not only stopping after a short time in 4K video recording but also in 1080p video recording.
Now I find there are a lot of users who had the back of their Z series phones come loose. I had suspected a bad battery swelling up, but after searching Google, I saw reports that its the NFC chip causing the outward pressure against the back panel.
Whatever it is, this phone has never been submerged, dropped or otherwise misused. It's been so well cared for, you'd be unable to tell it apart from a brand new one in the store.
So, how can I get a warranty repair from Sony, while traveling and not be out of a phone for too long?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Haha too funny... before I could read your answers, this happened:
Shortly after the back came off (which I now know to be caused by the repeated heat from the camera cooking the waterproof glue that holds the back) The phone ended in an unrecoverable boot loop.
I went to a Sony service center, who wouldn't do anything - not on warranty and neither for cash. They said there's only very few service centers that are authorized to work on waterproof phones. I asked them to ship it to one and they declined again.
Zero help, in essence.
How do you travel without a phone? You can't even book the next ferry, flight or hotel! Thanks for nothing, Sony - on a less than 6 months old phone.
In my desperation, I bought another phone (Samsung) from Amazon and they forwarded it to my location. Thanks for the help, Amazon!
Amazon actually has business sense and manners...
You should contact your local Xperia care as Sony doesn't have an international warranty and ask them how long it will take to get it repaired.
