Serious problems with Z...

I'm posting this problem on behalf of my friend. He recently got his Z from Singapore. But he's using it here in India. I recommended him to upgrade his phone to 4.3 JB. But, problems started to come one after other after the latest update. Phone hangs too much. Camera doesn't open up. Album doesn't recognise pictures and videos and take long time to load pictures. Walkman remains crashed after opening it. The system UI crashes regularly and takes too many restarts of phone for proper usage. Multi tasking is becoming hard or not possible in this case. We tried removing sd card, uninstalling some unwanted apps(mainly Macafee).,, But nothing worked for us. I really feel sorry for him as it was his first phone and being unusable right now and very guilty for recommending him 4.3...

Updates must be capable of removing the negatives. But its developing flaws in our case not by small scale but in huge levels.....

Please help us gusysss.....

What size is the SD card? I had many of the same problems when I loaded a 64 Gb SanDisk full of music and video. I spent a week or so trying different things eg making sure that the card was formatted to FAT32, flashing the firmware about 20 times because I think it corrupted my firmware.

In the end, I switched to a 32 Gb card.

He used a 16gig memory card... We tried removing it but nothing happened... The only solution was repairing it through pc companion. The phone's working fine now...

What I learnt from this problem---"Never update the phone through phone's update center"...

But repairing took so much time.... Like 3-4 hours...
All his apps like Google Earth were gone... We tried to reinstall again but the play store denied it...
I use ZL... But I bought my phone in India... I'm also not getting that app... Why????

After over a month having trouble with my Xperia and SonyMobile unable to help

THIS seems to be what caused the problem in my case too.

I also have this SanDisk 64 GB microSD card and now I'm guessing that is what is causing the problem. I will try to format it in my Xperia Z and then use it. Hope that helps. Otherwise I will have to move to a smaller drive. The 64 GB was working fine with Andriod 4.2.2 though. I just want to move back to the older 4.2.2.

Ok, I'm now running the Xperia Z on Lollipop and still with the SanDisk 64 GB microSD card plugged in. But evey time I upgrade the OS, I empty the microSD card and reformat it from Settings > Storage > Erase SD Card.
