Receiving multiple sms messages

Hey guys, I have an Xperia Z1 and for last couple of months have started receiving multiple SMS messages, as in the same message comes through several times. It doesn't happen with every person on my contact list, but most. The same message can continue to come through every couple of hours through until the next day. If they have sent more than one message, the second and/or subsequent messages won't come through until day or days later. Very frustrating. From what I have read on other forums, this problem isn't limited to Xperia phones, however I have yet to find a solution for my model. Any ideas?

Hi @jbear37, I'm sorry to hear of this.

Have you been in contact with your operator? It sounds like the network is registering that the message has already been delivered to your phone. If your operator is unable to find anything on their end I'd suggest that you ask for a new SIM card from them and see if that helps.

I have exactly the same problem. My Operator Orange told me that my Phone (Xperia M5) does not confirm to them, that the message was delivered. How should I solve the problem with my M5?

Hi @Miketto,

Have you been able to get your SIM card replaced by your operator? If not, then I suggest that you do so and see if that helps.

@Christofer, my Operator (Orange) still claims it is the fault of my equipment. Instead of repleacing my SIM card, I replaced the Phone for few days. My old Samsung Galaxy III works perfecly with the same SIM card.
Any other advice?

Hi there.

@Christofer, I did a factory reset using the Sony Companion App. It did not help. Sometimes I get messages with few hour delay, sometimes they are multipled. When there is lon SMS (more than 160 characters) it is splited in parts and i get it with abot 30 minutes delay. When move the SIM to my old Samsung, it works always perfect and fast

@Miketto Sorry to hear that. Slightly_frowning_Face If possible I'd still suggest that you try another SIM card in your phone to be sure. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend or a family member temporarily just to test.

Hi @Christofer.

I just got a brand new SIM and the situation is still the same - SMS are delivered to me with a delay or long SMS are splited in few parts, and are also delayed. My operator claims that the terminal (my Xperia M5) does not confirm to the operator that the message was delivered.

The version of Android is 30.1.A.1.55.

I tried to use different SMS aplications and it has not helped.

I heard there is available Marshmallow for M5 (30.2.A.0.100) but not in Poland yet?

Now I can not relay on the my Xperia M5. How can you help me, except replacement of the phones for old Samsung Galaxy SIII, that works fine.
