Hello!
I got a problem with my Z2 gps system. A few app's say that my GPs is turned off when its not and the weather widget can't find my location, and whem i'm lucky it does but gets it completly wrong, usealy about 15km in the wrong direction. Strangely a lot of GPS requierd app's work fine. Rebooting the phone hasn't worked and re-instal the non working app's neither. At first i thought the problems where in the app's but I find it hard to belive that that many app's have the same problem and also the weather widget that was factory installed doesn't work properly.. Does anybody else had similar or the same problems? and does anybody have a solution?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
You can check the location settings if you go to settings > location. Change to high accuracy mode.
If that doesn't help, try the following:
Open the phone app > press *#*#7378423#*#* > service tests > GPS > purge assistance data.
Restart the device and try to get your location when outside.

Thanks alot!! Purge assinstance data worked with almost every app, however the weather widget that was factory-installed still gets my location wrong even though i have my gps on high accuracy mode. I had the same widget on my Experia Z and i never had a problem. I guess I wil just have to find another weather widget that works properly.
Glad to hear that it partly solved your problem. Have you tried to remove the widget and add it again? You could also run it with a fixed location.
I am suffering GPS issues too using the App Endomondo sport tracker. It worked fine on my Galaxy S3 but since getting the Z2 it's no stopped tracking the distnace walked. From 10 walks only 1 has distance. Unsure if this is due to bad GPS in a Z2 or an update in Endomondo. I did have stamina turned on but understood this to turn off GPS when the screen is turned off.
If I start my app and hit the home button to move the app into the background it fails to track distance everytime. If I leave it on screen and turn off the screen it tracks the odd walk.
I have tried the purging and have even tried reinstalling the App. I have the paid version of the app and also the free version and both suffer the same.
Any ideas whats causing the gps not to track distance.
Since I do not see this thread as closed, decided to write in since its the same topic.
I have been experiencing this situation during the past few months. However, the GPS performance and lock-on is rather erratic (might take a few seconds, a few minutes, or never lock-on). This is very unnerving since I cannot use Google Maps, Waze or RunKeeper effectively.
After experiencing mixed results with the Service Test GPS purge assistance data, I'm left with little or no options. I also completely reinstalled the device (brought back to unboxed state) without positive results.
I still own an Xperia Z1 and have it laying around. Initially out of the box, the Z2 would pick up a GPS signal within seconds (or already had it) after turning an application with GPS request (faster than my Z1). However, the Z1 still consistently locks-on to the GPS signal whereas the Z2 still presents difficulty, or completely fails to get the GPS signal after more than one (1) hour.
Any and all replies are greatly appreciated.
I recently upgraded to Andoid 5.1.1. version. (with Sony Companion)
My GPS disappeared completely. I cannot see it in the item list.
When I open a GPS program, it cnnot use the GPS.
I did the test by phoning *#*#7378423#*#* and it did the servive test for the GPS. it cannot anything: it says waiting for location update but does not find anything
However I got it working by installing the app "GPS status", but now the GPS is on all the time and drains the battery.
Setting everything back to factory settings did not help either
