Pink spot with xperia z3 camera

Hi, I just got my z3 less than a week ago, today I notice pink spot with the camera and all the photos I take. Is this a software issue or should I take it to sony a.s.a.p? Sample photo:

Has Sony officially addressed this pink spot issue yet?

I literally bought my Z3C 5 days ago and tested it out. I had the Pink spot issue like others have noticed. The Sales Rep at the store would deny it and would try to replicate the issue but the store is way too brightly lit which I told him that the issues is super noticeable in low light conditions. Anyway, I re-tested at home, taking a photo in my room against a uniform wall color with no lights and only the natural light coming thru the window....and yep the Pink circle hue is there.

I brought it back into the store and got it exchanged .......and YEP same issue with this new one.

Either I just have bad luck at getting all the phones with the same issue or this pink spot is actually on all the Z3/Z3C family devices and people aren't testing their phones right with the indoor low light conditions.

I threw together a picture and a graphic of the color differences you can see in Photoshop.

I really do like the build of this phone but this camera issue is disappointing. Especially when they promoted great low light photography....

I am REALLY hoping this is a software issue and will be addressed and updated in firmware.

Anyone else noticing this?

Very disappointing fault for such an expensive device... Even sony corporation do not make an official statement for it...It is more shocking... Sony, we need the replies now ! Is this pinkness on camera a software problem or hardware ? If software pls publish an update asap and fix it... if not you have to collect these unfinished draft devices back and send new ones ! Aprreciate kind feedback urgently !!

You need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

And what will my local Xperia Care do about it? Does this mean it's actually considered a fault that can be repaired? Or will the new camera exhibit the same problem after getting my phone back from my local Xperia Care three weeks later?

This seems like a pretty common issue that has been highlighted by a lot of people here and on XDA Dev forum, yet I've so far seen no reports of anyone getting their pink-spot camera fixed and there's been total silence from Sony. Why is it so hard for Sony to say either a) this should not be happening and we'll replace the camera under warranty, or b) this is a software issue that we will try to fix in the next software update?

Simply parroting the "contact your local Xperia Care" reply tells us nothing. Has anyone actually had Sony replace the camera because of this problem and confirmed the new unit works fine?

Sony won't do anything. They will just sit this out, after all, we have the phones now, how many of us are actually going to do anything about it?

Exactly the same happened with the 'Flash Bleed' issue that plagued the Z1 Compact, which I had before the Z3C, so I have moved from one unacknowledged camera problem to another, clearly these are hardware defects but the mind boggles that they were not picked up in product testing. Hundreds of people raise the same issue on forums, Sony says nothing, 3 months later everyone gets bored and stops complaining.

It is sooo frustrating as I like pretty much every other aspect of Sony's phones, but for this to happen to me twice in a row is not acceptable. So, will I end up getting a Samsung Galaxy Alpha, another premium compact phone, but this time with a very good camera?

No, probably I will just get the Z4 Compact and enjoy more poor customer service and a phone with a glaring flaw...

Have you guys seen this links? It doesn't seem to be a  hardware/software issue, it's a general phenomenon in mobile cameras with larger sensors.

Interesting links, thanks.

So although it's a problem inherent to camera phones (wide angle lens close to sensor) there is clearly a software solution made by at least one third party company (DxO) and I bet there are other proprietary software solutions made by other companies.

So is Sony going to bother implementing a software solution to this problem on the Z3? I hope so, but the cynic in me doubts it will actually happen.
