Hi all,
just upgraded my Xperia Play using cyanogen 2.3.4 to an Z3c running Android 4.4.4
for years I have had my contacts categorized by countries as I travel a bit.
In Sweden I have a group for swedish contacts and for UK another one.
In Android 4.4.4 phonebook it shows similar slider on the right hand side if you´d like to scroll to a particular letter.
Why is this slider not present in groups ?
SMS application can only show contacts from "My contact" in google, if your contacts are in groups it will find none.
only way to text a new contact is to go via the phonebook.
Android 2.3.4 always kept sliders and had ability to use contact groups ( both Xperia Play 2.3.4 and Cyanogen 2.3.4 )
where would I raise this issue to get the most attention ?

Solved! Go to Solution.
Been in contact with SonyMobile support and the text issue is confirmed but no update if this will be sorted in the next update.
Also confirmed that no if contacts are grouped and excluded from my contacts ( the root folder ) then they will not have the letter filter option on the right hand side ( functionality lost compared with Android 2.3.4). apparently no attempt will be made to sort this.
my first major dissapointment using Android is by that confirmed..
This question should go to Cyanogen developers not Sony.
Im sorry if I was unclear.
on the Xperia Play I have tested both Sony Android 2.3.4 ( gingerbread ) software _and_ cyanogen v 2.3.4 and phonebook behaves properly
on Z3 compact brand new with latest version of Sony firmware it does not.
definately the issue is in the Sony software.
